Friday, we went to the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas. We love aquariums, I’ve already posted 2 times about other trips. My only problem with aquariums is it’s such a tough subject to shoot. The lighting is crappy, the subjects are constantly moving and flash usually can’t be used because either it’ll bounce off the glass or bother the fish. So for every shot I posted I had at least 3 or 4 that didn’t make the cut.

Why are they Canadian?

May 27, 2008

Seems like we have Canadian geese all year round so why were they named that? It’s not like I even live in a state bordering the country. I live smack dab in the middle of the U.S. and they’re here January through December!!!

Geese

April 28, 2008

I was at a local park and saw these geese. They were pretty upset when I started to get close to them so I had to snap my pictures quickly.

We love animals so of course we had to take a trip to the Wild Animal Park. They said during spring they can have up to 15 animals being born a day!

We went to Birch Aquarium during our trip to San Diego. I didn’t have very many pictures that turned out great but here are a few including one of the orange garibaldi which is California’s state fishGaribaldi.

Horsies!

March 27, 2008

One benefit to living so far out in the suburbs is it doesn’t take me very long to get to the “country”. Saturday was a gorgeous day so I decided to find a new subject for my photography. I got in my car and just started driving. The next thing I knew I had come across these gorgeous horses. They were very interested in me until they realized I didn’t have any tasty morsels to bribe them with.

Under the Sea

March 22, 2008

Last weekend I had the opportunity to visit Atlanta and see a friend. While we were there we not only braved two tornadoes (yes everyone is fine) but fortunately the enormous Georgia Aquarium wasn’t hit by the storms. We saw plenty of fish but my favorites were the jellyfish.
