Fall is Definitely Here
November 6, 2008Sunrise
September 25, 2008I’m not usually up early enough to catch the sunrise. This pic was taken quite a while back and I came across it as I was organizing my pictures.

Powell Gardens – Part 2
May 15, 2008I really like taking pictures of nature but at Powell Gardens I found myself getting bored very quickly. Don’t get me wrong, Powell Gardens is incredibly gorgeous and a great backdrop. However, there’s only so many ways you can photograph a flower. Nature’s a great subject to start on but I haven’t found it challenging enough to increase my skills lately. The only shot I found difficult was with the waterfalls. I wanted a slower shutter speed to convey the rushing water and I don’t have a tripod yet so most of them turned out blurry. I’m not saying that every shot I was took turned out wonderful but with plants and flowers you’ve got all the time in the world to get just the perfect picture. It’s not like a flower is going to jump up and down and I’ve got to capture it midair.
Hopefully I’ll be able to focus on other more challenging subjects for awhile. I’m going to watch my girlfriend Julie run a triathlon this weekend so I’ll have some shots of that on here soon. Good luck Julie. I’m sure you’ll do great!

Powell Gardens – Part 1
May 14, 2008Sorry I haven’t posted in a couple of days. Last weekend I took sooo many pictures and I’m trying to get them all edited.
Last weekend I went out to Powell Gardens. I hadn’t been out here except for a wedding so this was the first time I was able to mill around and photograph the gorgeous scenery out here. The place is absolutely gorgeous and I had a hard time picking out pictures because they all turned out so good.

San Diego Floral
April 17, 2008The great thing about going somewhere consistently in 70 to 80 degrees is all the gorgeous flowers. These were all found at the Cabrillo National Monument
